Introduction
There are situations, where the operating system hangs itself up.
That means it that the operating system or an application program is in a software loop and finds no more exit there.

There, like the PC, it is the possibility to kill a program, a soft RESET (warm start) or a hard RESET (cold starting) through supply.

Kill program
Symptom:
An application (program) does not come out from a loop.
Which is to be done?:
Right above in the psi on window click (where the name of application and/or the file stands).
There one arrives into the EPOC Taskmanager and can select the abgestuertzte Anwendnung (to mark).
Then the keys Shift+Strg+E press at the same time. Whereupon a dialogue box which follows one with OK ONE confirm must.

Soft RESET
Symptom: Task change is not possible any longer, for PSION beeps.
Which is to be done?:
If thus parts of the PSION hang (IrDA driver, parts of the Kernel, etc.), then should one a trying whether one can induce it again with a soft RESET again to the normal function.
Around a soft RESET to make there is a small hole in the battery box, completely in the corner. There with a ball-point pen or a paper clip in-sting (is enough briefly).
After switching on it can be that some system attitudes (clock, indicator representation, etc..) again to be adjusted.

Hard RESET
Symptom: Nothing passes more. Screen remains.
Which is to be done?:
If thus the entire PSION hangs, then one must probably make penetrated a hard RESET.
Thus also all data, attitudes, are etc., those on the drive assembly C: \ lay away, because the operating system is again installed.
Then one can hope only for a functioning Backupsystem. The data on D: \ remain!

Afterwards the subject again close and press when switching on on both shift keys.
The PSION tries now to start on the CF-Card the file SYS$BIN.ROM or to develop a serial interface connection to a y-terminal.
